The boyfriend of Longford woman Sarah McNally, who was killed in New York, has been formally indicted by a grand jury accused of her murder.
It is the next step in the judicial process in the US.
Thirty-six-year-old Marcin Pieciak, of 76th Street in Glendale in New York, was charged on Wednesday with murder in the second degree and two counts of the criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
He did not appear in Queens County Criminal Court yesterday as he is still in hospital.
Ms McNally was stabbed to death in the Ceili House Bar in Maspeth in New York at 6.30pm last Saturday evening, after which Mr Pieciak received self-inflicted injuries, a court was told this week.
A date for the next court appearance has not been set yet.
Ms McNally's funeral takes place in St Mel's Cathedral in Longford town at 11am on Monday.
She is from Longford town and moved to the US ten years ago.
