Longford's new look LIDL store is set to welcome back customers this morning following a 27 week full rebuild.
LIDL Ireland had the existing store on the Dublin road in the town demolished in January, with works underway on site since.
Plans called for the replacement of the old store with a much larger building, comprising of a supermarket with 70 percent more sales space and an off licence extending into the neighbouring former fuel depot.
14 new staff members are joining employees from the original store bringing the number on site to 31.
Longford Ladies Gaelic Football Captain Caoimhe McCormack alongside Vice-Captain Niamh Brady will cut the ribbon this morning, with the supermarket opening for business directly after.
Since opening their doors on the Dublin road in November 2000, the German retail giant state they have procured a total of 100 million euro worth of goods and services from Longford based suppliers.
