Flood-affected residents near Lough Funshinagh have welcomed comments made by the Taoiseach this morning. Simon Harris said he would take a leading role in finding a permanent solution to the ongoing crisis in south Roscommon. He confirmed he would be chairing a meeting between Roscommon County Council, the OPW and the Attorney General next month.
The Taoiseach's comments come after he met with families impacted by the flooding in Ballagh and Rahara in recent weeks. The Chairperson of the Lough Funshinagh Flood Action Group said the Taoiseach's comments would be welcomed by locals.
