Residents in South Roscommon have welcomed news that a flood relief scheme will commence in the coming weeks. Work on a temporary pipe to remove excess water from Lough Funshinagh is set to be completed by April. The news was confirmed by Minister for the OPW Kieran O'Donnell during a visit to Roscommon this morning. The Minister also confirmed that work to secure a permanent solution will continue in tandem with the aim of installing an underground pipe by March 2027.
