A director of the Lough Ree Access for All Centre says it's important to have a tourism offering for all abilities.
Dorothy Coyle made the comments following the formal opening of Ireland's first accessibility centre for water sports in Ballyleague today.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was on hand to perform the official duties, he says the amenity with benefit not only locals but the entire country.
Over three thousand people visited last year alone and Dorothy Coyle says a huge amount of work has been taking place over the last number of years on the project.
Speaking to Shannonside FM the Roscommon volunteer and centre brand ambassador noted the importance of the facility.
'It will hopefully bring tourism for everybody that's our motto.
It's not just for able body people as there is no labels when you are here because it is for everyone.
This place is known for fishing so why not have someone with injuries at it because it can be done.'
