The first-ever launch from the new boathouse for Lough Ree RNLI took place on last Friday.
The volunteer lifeboat crew on duty were called out just before 5 o' clock on Friday evening to help people on board a 30ft cruiser near Kings Island.
Station Mechanic Bernie Larkin said the first launch from the new boathouse was a 'historic moment' and a 'textbook' launch and recovery.
