Lough Ree RNLI are urging the public to keep clear of the slipway at Coosan Point to allow the charity to respond as rapidly as possible to emergencies.
According to Operations Manager Kevin Ganly, during good weather the congestion caused by the public using amenities around Coosan Point can hamper the launch of the lifeboat.
19 people were rescued by Lough Ree RNLI over the last week on the lake in six separate incidents.
Good weather in the last 7 days saw local waterways extremely busy, with multiple call outs for the RNLI volunteers.
Early yesterday morning, life boat crews were called to an incident where a 32 foot cruiser had run aground on rocks south of Clonminch Island, stranding 4 people.
Following a wellness check of those on board and an inspection of the sticken vessel, it was towed to safe water and continued under its own power.
On Sunday, a speed boat hit rocks at Hexagon Shoal, with 5 passengers needing assistance.
On the arrival of the life boat crew, three people had been taken on board a passing vessel while the remaining two were rescued by the RNLI.
The speed boat, which had been holed and was taken on water, was towed to Coosan Point where it was beached.
Separately at Coosan point, a member of the public required medical assistance following an injury received from jumping into the lake.
A further 3 calls outs last week saw RNLI volunteers assist 11 people in three different incidents, where the vessels were required to be towed to safe water.
