Legal fees of over €70,000 have been paid out by the Longford Westmeath Education Training Board in the last 18 months.
Details released to Shannonside Northern Sound FM reveal a payment of over €10,000 as part of a Workplace Relations Commission issue last year.
A total of nine schools across Longford and Westmeath are run under the auspices of the LWETB.
In 2019, the total spend on legal fees was €69,184.46, including over nine-thousand euro on legal advice concerning a bullying and harassment investigation.
Legal advice makes up the majority of the payments to legal firms - including for advice on issues such as bullying, disciplinary matters as well as grievance procedures.
A case at the Workplace Relations Commission also cost the LWETB over fourteen thousand euro in legal fees, and over €10,000 was handed over as part of a WRC payment. .
Advice concerning a bullying and harassment investigation also cost the ETB just over nine-thousand euro.
In 2020, between January and July, a total of €9,278 was spent on legal fees -including over four hundred euro to receive advice from a senior counsel barrister.
