2,600 home help hours for palliative patients will be funded by Mayo Roscommon Hospice this year.
It's part of the charity's five-year strategy which was launched by the Taoiseach Michael Martin in Dublin this week.
The hours will be provided in partnership with the HSE and through the Hospice's homecare Teams.

The Foundation's chair Mike Smith says the announcement means its palliative care team can provide support in the home for someone waiting on a care worker to be appointed.
