A Leitrim secondary school has been given the green light for a major new classroom expansion.
The funds for Drumshanbo Vocational School have been allocated by the Department of Education under the additional accommodation scheme.
According to Chairperson of the Board of Management and local councillor Enda McGloin, the expansion will include 5 mainstream classrooms, 2 SET rooms, a multimedia room and textiles room.
Also included will be 2 class based SEN units, making the Drumshanbo school one of the largest in the county.
Meanwhile in Roscommon, St Cóman's Wood Primary School has been allocated funding for a significant expansion.
Announcing the project, local Senator Eugene Murphy says the development will bring a new mainstream classroom, two SEN bases and will enable the rental of two prefabs for a 2 year period.
