A south Longford primary school is set for a major investment in new classrooms.
St Matthew's National School in Ballymahon has been approved for a new 12 classroom extension as well as five new special education rooms and a new general-purpose area.
The news comes after previous funding was set aside for developments at the town's two secondary schools with the education sector in the town set for an overall investment of over €10m in the coming years.
This project will now go to the design stage and TD Joe Flaherty is hopeful of seeing the work completed in the next two years :
