Funding of almost one million euro has been allocated to improve local roads across the Shannonside region.
Leitrim County Council is to receive over €700,000 (729,158) as part of the Local Improvement Schemes in the county which repairs private roads where a minimum of two homes are located.
The additional money will bring the total allocated for the LIS in the county to over one million euro.
An extra €114,000 (114,060) is being allocated for local roads in Longford and in Roscommon extra funding also of €114,000 ( 114,768) is being allocated for the LIS scheme.
