Almost 1500 people contacted the out of hours GP service for the north west last weekend.
NowDoc issued an alert last Sunday advising that it was experiencing a high volume of calls for its service and warned that urgent calls were being prioritised.
The service provides an urgent GP family Doctor service to patients of GP members in Co Donegal and south Leitrim
Following a query from Shannonside FM, a HSE spokesperson confirmed that 1424 people called the service between the 28th of October and November 1st.
The volume of calls was significantly higher than the week previous, when 928 people availed of NowDoc between the 21st of October and the 24th of last month.
