November saw a major increase in Covid-19 PCR testing in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
According to new figures from the Department of Health, over 41,000 tests were carried out at centres locally.
Testing infrastructure has been under severe pressure over the last week according to the HSE, with cases now stabilizing at a high rate.
Over 10,000 Covid tests were carried out in Cavan last month at the testing centre in Castlesaunderson, the highest level in the region.
In neighbouring Monaghan, just over 9,000 people came forward for a Covid test at Cloghan GAA Centre.
While in the Shannonside region, Roscommon had the highest level of testing among the three counties, with 9,639 swabs taken.
That was followed closely in Longford where 9,351 people were tested for the virus.
Leitrim recorded the lowest levels of testing in the region, where just over 3,000 people attended the testing centre in Carrick on Shannon.
