Major refurbishment works to begin soon at Castlerea pool

A major refurbishment project is to begin at Castlerea outdoor swimming pool in the coming weeks.

A contractor has been appointed for the job and is expected to begin very shortly.

The outdoor pool in Castlerea is understood to have been the first of its kind when it opened in 1945.

Local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says the amenity has been improved over the years and he's very happy to see that Roscommon council has approved a sizeable project over the coming months.
