A major redevelopment of a Longford based supermarket remains on schedule as intensive construction works continue on site.
LIDL Ireland had the existing store on the Dublin road demolished in February with works underway on site since.
Plans call for the replacement of the old store with a much larger building, comprising of a supermarket and off licence extending into the neighbouring former fuel depot.
According to the plans submitted to the council, the retailer hopes to build a part single part two storey building with the retail space covering an area of over 1600 square metres.
In a statement to Shannonside FM News, LIDL Ireland confirmed that the works remain on schedule with store due to reopen in August.
