A man in his 30s has been remanded in custody following a court appearance in Longford in connection with a series of thefts across the country.
The Lithuanian man was charged with possessing stolen property at addresses in Longford and Dublin.
The 39-year-old was arrested in Granard last week following as part of a Garda investigation into an organised crime group suspected of nationwide thefts.
Judge Bernadette Owens refused an application for bail following several garda objections and he is due back in court via video link tomorrow.
