A man in his early 40s has been arrested in connection with an assault in Longford town, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning Thursday.
He's currently detained at Longford Garda Station.
A man in his early 60's was assaulted in the Canal Court area of Longford town around half past five yesterday morning.

He sustained a number of cuts to his head and was taken from treatment to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar.
