A man arrested in relation to a serious assault on a woman in Athlone at the weekend has been released without charge.
The man was arrested following the incident near Athlone Castle between midnight and half past twelve last Friday night.
A File will be prepared for the DPP.

Gardaí are still appealing for a man who came on the scene and helped the woman involved to make contact with them.
