A man who used a knife has been arrested after the robbery of an off-licence in Athlone last night.
The man in his 20s is believed to have entered the premises just before 10pm with a kitchen knife.
He took a quantity of alcohol and left the premises but was arrested a short time later by gardaí.

No injuries were reported but the shop assistant is said to have been left 'shaken' by the incident.
The man has been arrested under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act and is currently being questioned by Gardai.
