A man in his late 20s was attacked in Longford Town last night by a number of men.
The attack is believed to have happened outside a house in the Glebe view estate in the Farnagh area of the town.
Gardai attended the scene at around 8.30pm last night and found the man with a number of lacerations to his legs.
It's understood he had been assaulted by a number of males outside a house. The injured man was treated at the scene by Ambulance personnel and removed to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar.
His injures are not believed to be life threatening and the scene was examined and investigations are ongoing.
No arrests have been made so far and gardai have appealed for information, asking members of the public who may have noticed anything suspicious in the Glebe View estate in the Farnagh area of the town to contact Longford Garda Station at 043-3350570.
