A man is due back in court in January following an assault in Lanesboro over the weekend.
A man in his 40s was arrested by gardaí after an incident was reported just after midnight on Saturday night.
A man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar to receive treatment for injuries following an alleged assault. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The accused appeared at a special sitting of Longford District Court on Sunday night and was remanded on bail to reappear before Longford District Court on January 18, 2022.
