A man in his 30's is due to appear in court on July 1st after being charged with drugs offences in Athlone.
The man was arrested during a search of a house in the town yesterday evening when gardai discovered €5,000 worth of cannabis herb, €1,100 worth of cocaine, and over €3,000 euro in cash.
He was arrested, detained and charged with possession of drugs for sale and supply.
Meanwhile, a man is due to appear in court charged with dangerous driving following an incident in the Curraghmore area outside Athlone last night.
The man was the driver of a car that failed to stop during a checkpoint in the town around half past eight last night.
He fled the scene on foot and ran across nearly fields but was apprehended a short time later.
He's been charged with dangerous driving and other charges may follow pending the outcome of drugs tests.
