The man charged with the murder of Detective Garda Colm Horkan is due back in court this morning.
Stephen Silver, with an address in Foxford, County Mayo, has been receiving medical treatment since being charged with the murder of the Castlerea based detective.
Today is due to be the 43-year-old's third appearance in court since the fatal shooting on June 17th in Castlerea.
The mechanic was charged two days later with the murder of the 48-year old Detective Garda.
At his last scheduled appearance in court on June 26th, Harristown District court heard that Mr Silver was medically unfit to attend, and he as being treated at the Central Mental Hospital, after being transferred there form Portlaoise prison.
On that occasion legal aid was extended to his defence team to prepare a number of psychiatric reports and he was remanded in custody to appear via video link this morning.
