A man in his 40's has died following a road crash in Roscommon.
The single vehicle collision occurred on the N61 shortly after 9 o'clock this morning near Ballybay National School.
The driver of this car,received medical treatment at the scene but was later pronounced dead and his body has since been taken to Roscommon University Hospital for a post mortem examination.
According to Gardaí, Forensic Crash Investigators are due to examine the scene later today.
The road has now been closed between Ganly's Roundabout and the Kiltoom Stores turn off with diversions through Bellanamullia and Curraghboy now in place.
Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N61 at this time, to make this footage available to them.
