A man in his 20's has died in a fatal road traffic collision in Roscommon.
It occurred at Scrine Hill near Athleague just before 3 o clock this morning
The driver, a man in his early 20s was fatally injured when the car he was driving overturned.
A post mortem will take place in due course.
The scene of the collision is currently preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators
The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealling to anyone who was in the area and who may have dashcam footage to contact Roscommon Garda Station on 090 6638342 or the Garda Confidential Line.
Local councillor Emer Kelly says the entire community is in shock at the news and everyone is thinking of the family at this difficult time.
