Man in his 40s dies in tragic accident in Frenchpark, Co Roscommon

A man in his 40s has died in a tragic accident in Co Roscommon.

He was working on the family farm in Sheepwalk, Frenchpark, when a tyre exploded.

Emergency services were called at around 7pm, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Roscommon University Hospital, with a post mortem examination to be carried out in Galway University Hospital.

Fianna Fáil senator Eugene Murphy says the incident is terribly sad.
