A man in his 70s has passed away following a serious crash near Boyle in Roscommon yesterday afternoon.
A car and a Jeep crashed on the N4 at Ardcarne at around 1.20pm resulting in injuries to the pensioner and a woman in her 40s.
Both were taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment where the man in his 70s has since passed away.

The woman's injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.
Gardaí are renewing their appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Road users, residents or pedestrians who witnessed the collision or who have CCTV or dash cam footage are asked to make it available to Castlerea Garda Station.
