Man in his 70s dies in workplace accident in south Roscommon

A man has died in a workplace accident in south Roscommon.

It happened in Bealnamulla at around 2 o'clock this afternoon.

The gardai said: "A male in his 70s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"His body will be removed from the scene and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"The Health and Safety Authority have been notified and are currently at the scene which remain preserved at this time.

"A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court."

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
