Two people have been seriously injured in a road traffic collision on the Longford Westmeath Border.
A section of the N4 near Multyfarnham is expected to remain closed for a number of hours following a single vehicle crash this morning.
Both occupants of the vehicle were transferred to Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, where a man remains in a serious condition.
A woman who was driving the car is currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash took place after 7 o’clock this morning and motorists are urged to expect delays if using the route.
Local diversions are in place as Gardaí conduct a Forensic Collision investigation.
