Patrick Quirke has lost an appeal over his conviction for the murder of Bobby ‘Mr Moonlight’ Ryan.
Following a 71-day trial in 2019, the Tipperary farmer was found to have murdered his love rival, by majority verdict.
In his appeal, he claimed he didn't get a fair trial before the Central Criminal Court and argued his conviction should be overturned.
However, in a lengthy judgment delivered this morning, the Court of Appeal has ruled that he did receive a fair trial.
After taking 13 months to make their minds up, the judges decided his conviction was safe and should stand.
