A man has been rescued from the River Shannon this morning in Carrick-On-Shannon.
He was seen entering the water by passers-by who alerted the emergency services.
Gardaí, ambulance personnel, and a rescue helicopter attended the scene earlier today following the alarm being raised.

It's understood the man was pulled from the water following intervention from members of the public.
He has been taken to hospital but is understood not to have suffered any significant injuries.
