The man who tragically died after getting into difficulty off the coast of Donegal has been identifed as a Leitrim native.
Patrick Doran, who was in his 40s, was one of over 100 divers partaking in the North West Dive Rally at Teelin.
The Leitrim Village native, alongside another man in his 60s, were reported to have been experiencing difficulty in the water at approximately 12:30pm on Saturday.
The Coast Guard's 118 Rescue helicopter, based at Strandhill in Sligo, was dispatched to the scene.
Patrick Doran's body was recovered from the water and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second diver was rescued and airlifted to Galway University Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Organisers of the North West Dive Rally immediately called off the remainder of the competition.
