Women who have recently attended the maternity unit at Sligo hospital, or who are currently attending it, are being invited to a special engagement forum tomorrow.
The forum will be hosted at the Glasshouse Hotel in Sligo tomorrow between 12pm and 2pm by staff at the hospital.
They'll be asking women about their experience of maternity services, and the hospital, with a view to improving the quality of services and making positive changes.
Marla Kennedy is Midwife Manager at Sligo University Hospital and says they are very interested in hearing women's experiences tomorrow.
The whole aim of this forum is to receive feedback form women who've recently used our service so we can improve it.
Because it is really important for us to listen to and to learn from the women that have used our service and to make it the best possible service for them.
There was a national maternity service experience survey carried out in 2020 and Sligo did extremely well on that.
But there were areas we needed to improve on , areas like breastfeeding support and we are improving on that, and there is a lactation consultant now going to be in place next month at Sligo hospital.
