TV presenter and Longford native Maura Higgins has spoken out about being sexually assaulted in the back of an Irish taxi a number of years ago.
The Love Island Star from Ballymahon shared details of what she described as an horrific encounter during a Q&A with fans on her Instagram page.
She explained she had fallen asleep in the back of the cab and was the last person to be dropped home on the night.
The local influencer claims when she woke up the taxi driver’s hand was right up her skirt.
Maura says she remembered the registration number of the cab.
''Yeah, I had an incident with a taxi driver. I fell asleep. My friends were dropped off before me and I was being dropped off alone because I lived on my own at the time. And I woke up and his hand was right up my skirt. Honestly I sobered up so quickly like I memorised his taxi number so quick, and I still remembered that the next day.''
