There is a call for €5 million in state funding to improve the appearance of four villages in south Leitrim.
It comes as the government is spending millions of euro on public realm improvement works in towns like Mohill and Carrick-on-Shannon. Fianna Fáil councillor Seán McGowan says similar works are needed in four villages in the area - Dromod, Drumsna, Rooskey and Jamestown. He wants the government to address them in a joint plan.
