An urgent search is under way for houses in south Leitrim to accommodate people with severe disabilities. It's after a meeting was held in the Bush Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon on Wednesday about the dire shortage of residential care facilities.
The meeting was attended by the HSE, politicians and the family members of service-users. Sinn Fein councillor Brendan Barry, from Drumshanbo, says at least 12 people urgently require this type of accommodation:
