An eagerly awaited meeting is taking place today to discuss the controversial plan for refugees to be accommodated in Castlerea. 52 international protection applicants will be housed in the Riverwalk apartments from June 7th - despite protests recently.

Local politicians are meeting senior officials from the Department of Integration this evening to get more information on the plan. Fianna Fáil senator Eugene Murphy arranged the meeting - he expects to get clarity tonight:
