Senior Government Ministers must urgently intervene in ongoing industrial action involving the National Advocacy Services according to a local TD. Members of the National Advocacy Service are staging a protest at the Taoiseach's constituency office in Wicklow and Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphries' offices in Monaghan today, with protests planned in Roscommon Town Tomorrow.
The service - which supports adults with disabilities across Ireland - is on hold for a second week, in a strike over implementation of a Labour Court recommendation on pay and conditions. According to workers, they have no received a pay increase in 14 years, with members calling on management to act on both a Labour Court Recommendation and an independent study.
