There is a mental health crisis among family carers at the moment according to a local support service co-ordinator.
Bernie Dowling works with Family Carers Ireland in their Roscommon office and says there's a crisis currently facing the sector following the pandemic.
According to the organisation, carers across the region have sacrificed family time, jobs and recreation in order to keep themselves and their family member safe from the virus.
