A local MEP has criticised an environmental group and the Government over the current situation at Lough Funshinagh. Luke 'Ming' Flanagan said Friends of the Irish Environment had put people off helping the environment over its legal action on works at the turlough. He also slammed the Government over its inaction around the flooding of land and homes close to the south Roscommon lake.
The Castlerea native said he and residents had met with a high-ranking European official who advised of a potential path to a solution. Speaking to Shannonside News, MEP Flanagan said the current situation was damaging to both the environment and local residents.
