Roscommon MEP Luke Ming Flanagan has thanked Gardai for acting quickly after receiving abuse online which was directed at his young daughter.
The Castlerea native reported on Thursday threats made about his family via the TikTok app.
He has tweeted this morning to say that a young person responsible for the messages has come forward and admitted to posting the comments, and the situation has been resolved.
The former TD says he doesn’t hold any grudge against the person who he described as "young and confused" and has requested that no further action be taken.
The situation has been resolved. The person who did this has came forward and admitted to posting the comments. They are young and confused. I've been there myself. I hold no grudge and I have requested that no further action to be taken. Just delighted to get a resolution. https://t.co/B3co48BjYz
