A local MEP is calling for a 'root and branch inquiry' into the suspicious death of a Leitrim man five years ago. 87-year-old Liam Farrell was found dead at the back of his house in Rooskey in January 2020. A review of the Garda investigation into his death is ongoing, after foul play was initially ruled out. A plaque was unveiled outside Liam's home yesterday, on the fifth anniversary of his death. His family believes he was attacked before he died - and Midlands Northwest MEP Ciaran Mullooly agrees.
Locals in Rooskey reflected on Liam yesterday, as the plaque was unveiled.
