Mickey Harte is back in intercounty management as he takes over the reigns at Louth for a 3 year term.
The former Tyrone manager who led the Red hand county to 3 All Ireland titles, only stepped down from that role 10 days ago after failing to get an extra year at the helm.
It was an appointment that caught the GAA world by surprise, but having been on punditry duty with the BBC for the Ulster championship since his step down from management, the Errigal Ciaran club man had made no secret of his interest in been back on the sideline.
Louth will compete in Division 4 of the Allianz League in 2021 having been relegated this year, while their last Leinster championship final appearance was back in 2010, when Joe Sheridan infamous goal which was allowed stand by referee Martin Sludden (Tyrone) denied the Wee County an historic provincial win.
Tyrone's championship ended this year at the quarter final stage with a loss to Donegal, with Harte initially requesting a further year in the management role, but this was denied due to a County executive rule whereby, the position would be for 3 years with it open to other candidates.
Gavin Devlin will form part of the management team along with Mickey Harte, and together they'll also be in charge of Louth's under-20's.
