The Education Minister refused to be drawn on whether teachers on career breaks should be drafted in to help correct Leaving Cert exams.
A shortage of examiners last year meant the results were not issued until the beginning of September.
The State Examinations Commission is encouraging teachers to sign up, with between 7 thousand and 10 thousand euro on offer.
But Minister Norma Foley, who is on a career break, wouldn't be drawn on the Examinations Commission bringing staff back to help correct papers:
'We have seen very successfully how they have run off the oral exams in the last number of weeks. They were very suitably managed in terms of having personal available . I say the state examination Commissioner is continuing to work on the body of work that is needed for the actual corrections in June.'
