The Minister for Health has asked the HSE to put in place a catch-up programme for children who missed out on HPV vaccines during the pandemic.
Minister Stephen Donnelly has written to the HSE to ask for additional vaccines to be made available for secondary school students who missed out on jabs over the past two years.
It's also expected the HPV vaccine will be offered for free to women aged under 25 in an effort to reduce cervical cancer rates.
CEO of the Irish Cancer Society Averil Power, says the vaccine can save lives.
