Over one million euro in funding has been allocated to an Educational and Training facility in Mohill.
The announcement was made by the Higher Education Minister Simon Harris, who was on a visit to the county today.
The significant capital investment will allow for a state of the art refurbishment and extension to the Leitrim ETB building which will become home to Mohill Youthreach.
It will also provide access to over 200 learners each year with a range of courses and workshops on offer.
Minister Harris says today's funding announcement will ensure the educational needs of the community are met.
"It's basically over one million euro to strip out and refurbish the old vocational school building in Mohill. It's going to give a proper state of the art home to Leitrim Youth Reach. The second thing its going to do is provide 200 learners a year with access to full and part time courses delivered here in Mohill by the ETB, so a real chance for local people to take part in education courses in Mohill".
