The OPW Minister says he'll be working to have the interim flood relief scheme in place in south Roscommon by April. An Bord Pleanála gave the project planning permission on Friday - in a major boost to the flooded area. It will see water removed from Lough Funshinagh by a temporary pipeline. Minister Kieran O'Donnell is visiting Roscommon on Wednesday to brief residents and politicians on the works. He was asked this morning when the short-term scheme will be up and running.
Minister O'Donnell also says plans will also be lodged with An Bord Pleanála in 2025 for a permanent solution.
