The Minister for Mental Health and Older People will turn the sod on a long-awaited 50-bed unit at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Roscommon.
Mary Butler will visit the county this afternoon as works on the €35 million unit are expected to commence shortly. Planning permission had been granted for the proposed development in 2023 and a tender process has since been undertaken. Local Fianna Fáil Senator Eugene Murphy said a builder for the project has been appointed and it would start very soon.
