The Minister for the OPW has appealed for patience from communities along the Shannon who are affected by flooding.
Patrick O' Donovan was in Athlone this week to assess flood defences in the town, while he also met with a local flood action group, Save Our Shannon.
Residents of Carrick on Shannon have expressed frustration at the slow pace of flood relief works following the publication of the CFram studies in the summer of 2018.
